My work-in-progress has been titled Haunted ever since I started outlining it. I knew Haunted wouldn’t stick, but I needed to call it something (and have you googled how many books are titled Haunted? Talk about getting lost in the shuffle!). Sometimes a title comes to me quickly, sometimes not. Sometimes I need to wait until a draft (or two or three) is finished until I really know the book well enough to give it a name. That finally happened this week.
I’m in the middle of making revisions using my beta readers’ feedback, and I’ve been brainstorming title ideas and running those past my beta readers. And the one that clicked?
Where Death Waits
I am so excited for this book! The first draft for this one happened really quickly because I was enjoying the story and the characters so much. One of my beta readers said this is her favorite book of mine, and I was thrilled with the compliment. It has a Victorian feel and if you like Downton Abbey or Upstairs, Downstairs, you’ll really enjoy the atmosphere of this one.
And it’s a ghost story…so much to love!
I’ll be sharing more as I get closer to announcing the release date. But for now, edits are going well, the cover is being designed, and I’m loving the way it’s all coming together.
